What is the Flick Shake 4.8"?
The JACKALL Flick Shake is a straight-tail finesse worm moulded with a permanent curve in the body. That shape makes the worm shimmy and shake on the fall and on any slack-line movement. The 4.8-inch size is a common all-round choice; JACKALL also offers other lengths and a Neko Flick version shaped specifically for nail weighting.
Why it's popular in Japan
The Flick Shake, and the wacky and neko rigs built around it, came out of the Japanese finesse scene and gave anglers a way to trigger pressured, inactive fish with a subtle, self-animating bait. It is one of the clearest cases of a JDM product changing how bass are fished globally.
How Japanese anglers fish it
Most often neko rigged: a nail weight in the head, a hook through the middle (weedless around cover), fished on spinning tackle with slack-line shakes, drags, and long pauses. It is also fished wacky style with no weight for a slow horizontal fall over cover.
Recommended situations
Pressured fish, clear water, and tough bites; isolated cover, bank lines, docks, and hard-bottom areas; effective year-round and a reliable follow-up to a missed reaction-bait fish.
How it differs from US-market lures
This is one JDM design that is now fully mainstream in the US and widely stocked. The original Flick Shake shape and plastic formula are still regarded as a benchmark for the category.
