Micro Darting (Micro Winding)

A finesse reaction technique that uses short rod movements to make a small soft plastic dart sharply from side to side on a specially shaped jighead.
Micro Darting, commonly known as "Micro Winding" in Japan, is a finesse version of the darting or winding technique.
A small soft plastic is rigged on a jighead designed to cut through the water and move sharply from side to side when the angler applies short rod movements.
Rather than relying on a natural swimming action, the technique creates sudden directional changes that imitate a small baitfish, shrimp, or other prey attempting to escape.
The basic presentation consists of short jerks followed by pauses. The lure darts during the rod movement and then falls or pauses before the next input.
Changing the number of jerks, pause duration, jighead weight, and fishing depth allows anglers to adjust the presentation according to fish activity.
The technique originated primarily in Japanese light saltwater fishing, but it can also be effective for freshwater predators. issei has documented largemouth bass caught in Japanese ponds using the Hane Ebi 1.5 with a 3 g Hane Ebi Head and a micro-winding presentation.
The Hane Ebi system is particularly well suited to this technique because the soft plastic and jighead were designed together to create a clean, wide dart with relatively simple rod input.
